Sports are the most respected and one of the major types of entertainment. As a fan we see the players from day to day and how they perform. Usually the only side of the players we see is during game time when all the attention is focused on them. However have you realized the small amount of professional players in the world. Especially in the sport of basketball were there is only a roster spot of 12. Although we see living greats such as Lebron James and Kevin Durant while we reminisce on the older legacies of Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird and Michael Jordan. These players are recognized as some of the greatest basketball players of all time. That only happens one way and that way is by putting in the necessary time and effort to be great. Kobe Bryant once said “ I can’t relate to lazy people. We don’t speak the same language. I don’t understand you. I don’t want to understand you.” That quote shows the fire and desire that not only Kobe Bryant has, but a trait that all of the other legends developed. There is a story about Michael Jordan that encompasses his hard work ethic that he had. James Worthy of the Los Angeles Lakers and North Carolina Tarheels said that at North Carolina when him and Freshman Michael Jordan played one on one “ I was better than he was for about two weeks.” This story shows how a young and underdeveloped Michael Jordan worked on his game everyday to learn and understand not just his opponent but the game of basketball. Now these are two solidified top players of all time quotes and stories telling you that there is no secret to success. Yes, while some athletes or students may be more gifted naturally than others without the use of hard work there natural gift is useless basically. Hard work should provide a sense of confidence and fulfillment because you know you are prepared for, your next task or your next game. Remember that hard work is the only route to success being lazy will not help you succeed but will help lead to your downfall.
